Meet Faye

The knowledgeable friend who tells you the truth — without making you feel judged.

Faye was born from years of research by Steve Ashford and Stacey — a couple who started questioning what was really in the products around their family long before it made the news. It started with a rug. When their children were small, Steve Ashford turned one over in a shop, read what it was coated in, and decided he didn't want his kids crawling all over it. That moment sparked years of quiet research — changing their home one natural fibre at a time, learning things that most people never find out because the information is buried, scattered, and takes years to piece together. Stacey joined the research, and together they built up a picture of what's really in the clothes we wear every day. Faye is everything they learned — distilled into an instant verdict. She's warm because Steve Ashford and Stacey never wanted to alarm people. She's honest because the truth matters. And she always points you toward one better choice, because that's how they did it themselves. One small change at a time. That's all it takes.

How it works

Three quiet modes. Everywhere you browse.

01 · Search

On Google

Faye annotates clothing brand results with known risk data — like PFAS up to 3,300× legal limit under a SHEIN result.

02 · Product

On a clothing page

Faye reads the full page — hidden tabs, accordions, inline JSON — and shows fibre DNA, toxin score, microplastic score, and her verdict.

03 · Everywhere else

A small leaf, ready

Faye sits quietly as a small 🌿 tab in the corner. Click any time. She remembers when you dismiss her.

The standard

Faye guides you to 100% natural fibres.

Every fibre counts. Even 5% elastane is enough for Faye to gently guide you toward something better - because small compromises add up, and you deserve the full picture. That's what makes Ovine different from the rest. While other apps celebrate mostly natural, Faye quietly encourages you toward a more natural way of living - one garment, one choice, one small step at a time. Not because your current wardrobe isn't good enough, but because there's always a kinder option for your body and the world around you. She'll always show you the way.

What Faye knows

The research most people haven't done.

01

Polyester sheds ~700,000 microplastic fibres per wash cycle.

02

Microplastics have been found in human blood, lung tissue and placentas.

03

SHEIN products tested at PFAS levels 3,300× the EU legal limit (Greenpeace 2025).

04

A Temu children's jacket contained phthalates 622× the legal limit (Seoul 2025).

05

Children absorb chemicals at significantly higher rates than adults.

06

GOTS organic certification requires 3 years of pesticide-free farming before qualification.

But right now she needs you.

Every time you use Faye, you're helping us answer one question — is this something people actually want? Your searches and feedback tell us exactly where to take her next.

Because this is just the beginning.

The Ovine app is coming to iOS and Android — with Faye as your personal guide, doing in seconds what once took years of research. Real-time scanning, smarter recommendations, and a healthier way to shop for everything — one small swap at a time.

That app is being built. The people using Faye today are the ones making it happen.

Try the extension, tell us what you think, and know that every search genuinely counts.

One small change at a time.
